WATCH ME: A Juried Youth Photography Competition and Exhibition

Photoworks Gallery announces a Call for Entries for WATCH ME, our 2017 Juried Youth Photography Exhibition.  Photoworks is committed to nurturing young photographers and showcasing their groundbreaking work. This competition – our 5th Annual Juried Show for Young Photographers — is designed for students of photography aged 18 and under. Ashley Givens, Independent Curator, previously Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and former Director of Education, Kreeger Museum, Washington, DC., will serve as the juror for the exhibition.

  1. Submit up to 3 high resolution jpg images to photoworks.gallery@gmail.com.
  2. There is $25 Entry Fee for up to 3 images (payable at our website or by check)

Instructions for Submission

  1. Age Requirement: The Competition is open to all student photographers 18 and Under.
  1. 2017 Theme: “Watch Me”
  1. Entry Fee: The $25 Entry Fee allows the photographer to submit up to 3 jpg images. PLEASE NOTE: If submitting more than 3 images, please submit an additional entry fee.
  1. How To Pay? Please pay the Entry Fee using the PAYPAL BUTTON below. Or send a $25 check (made payable to PHOTOWORKS) to: Photoworks Youth Photo Competition, 7300 MacArthur Boulevard, Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo, MD 20812.



  1. What Images Will Be Accepted? Photoworks will accept digital, film, cellphone, and alternative camera or alternative process images.
  1. How Do I Submit My Photo(s)? Please email your images to photoworks.gallery@gmail.com before July 14, 2017 at 11:59PM.
  1. IMPORTANT Info About Your Email! The subject line of your email should read “Youth Photo Contest (Insert Your Name Here)”
  1. What Format/Size Should My Photos Be? Make sure your images are in a jpg or jpeg format. The file size of each image should be no wider than 1600 pixels and no taller than 1200 pixels (medium quality).
  1. DEADLINE: Submit your photos on or before July 14th at 11:59PM. Photoworks will let you know if your work is chosen for the exhibition on July 26, 2017.
